For how much change is impending, the tide’s been quiet here this August.
In between box stacks as tall as me and black trash bags, I’ve maintained peace and joy in the liminality. Here are a few things I’ve enjoyed this month.
Enya (Vibes) on Workdays
My day job is customer service, so finding peace however I can during my workday is a godsend. I experimented during a tough week this month, and I think I stumbled upon a new “on the clock” ritual.
Ethereal/whimsical sounds, candle and incense scents mixing on my altar, and my laptop open to write on down time…good vibes.

Special Scents
It took a week thanks to procrastinating an unboxing reel attempt, but new candles came this month! My favorite candle company Witch City Wicks had a limited sale of discontinued spooky scents, and you know I picked up two of them.

Candlelit Dungeons & Dragons (D&D)
Earlier this month, I joined my first D&D campaign in almost two years. I’m rusty as an old doornail from not playing since Wizards of the Coast released 5.5e, but it’s been fun playing new modules with new rules.
I also deviated from my normal wizard pick and gleefully revived a monk I never got to really play yet. (Vohani got trap-murdered before she threw a punch; I can’t let her perma-die like that.)
Home Depot Boxes
I’ll cry tears of joy when I never have to see a cardboard moving box again. For now, they litter and weigh down my living room. Nothing much else to say other than I’m ready to go already.
